Milano! the city of fashion and inspiration...

Milan! The Italian city is recognized internationally as one of the world's most important fashion capitals, along with Paris. This fashion capital...city for artists, place for designers with a huge industrial importance is the inspiration for lot of people... That's why we couldn't miss such a cool city!
Milano is a big city located in the North of Italy, capital of Lombardy, and also the second largest city of Italy. The first time I've been here, I have to admit I felt intimidated for its immensity and also the luxury around. But Milano is more than these. At the end the fashion city is not only expensive clothes and models walking on the street. The place transmits a bit of everything... There are lot of things to do!

Its Gothic architecture could be huge source of inspiration. Also walking around many streets where you can find fashion for everyone. That's the place where you would find this alternative style which bring you to buy clothes from very low prices until luxurious pieces for thousand of euros, One of the nicest things we've seen in Milan were the alternative shops with recognized brands for really good prices: like here. This cosmopolitan city also has many options to enjoy great restaurants, cafes and discos. And why not after a great meal visiting a museum in Milano?

Milan began as a centre of fashion in the Middle Ages and Renaissance, as in Venice and Florence, the manufacture of luxury goods was an industry of such a huge importance.

Milan truly became one of the world's top fashion cities in the 1970s and 1980s, further developing and keeping its prestigious status into the 1990s and 2000s, being now seen as part of the "big four" cities. Milan is especially known for its role within the prêt-à-porter category of fashion.

The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is one of the world's oldest shopping malls.

You are what you love...

Hi! We are back in Amsterdam!  the city of dreams and weed :D I came back to this fantastic place to keep going with our artistic idea of a brand inspired by the city of Amsterdam. Since the beginning this place gave us all the inspiration and creativity to feel like making a whole brand inspired by the style, the people, the culture, the music and Amsterdam's fashion.-Red Light Knits- is the brand created by my wonderful mom, supported by a great photographer and combined with my SinMente style to create and design unique knitted pieces ;) She is a professional Knitter with lot of years of experience in Knitting design and handmade products, That's why I am here! I wanted so much to see all her work, help her with my own designs, give ideas, provide my own vission and also to model all the products :p

This original jacket has been inspired in a design I saw on the Figue catwalks. Their model of Bella Sweaterhas ethnic motives and funny, hairy sleeves. I used a pattern of Indian motif from a vintage Verenamagazine and the "long dreads" Phildar yarn I just had at hand. All the jacket body is knitted with the Icelandic unspun wool plötulopi. This kind of wool is great because is soft, warm and very resistant, but might be complicated to work with for unexperienced knitters as it breaks very easily.
Mr A'dam is elegant but casual at the same time. He has a cute sexy moustache that he carefully looks after every morning. Then he shows it off proudly around the city through the channels, naturally from his bike!

Mr A'dam is the new sweater from our collection. Made from Icelandic lettlopi wool with the appliqué of the elegant moustache and funny (practical....) elbow patches. The sweater has also super fashionable up-down shape and few buttons sewn on the raglan line. Knitted totally in the round with no seams.

Waters of Amsterdam Jacket....
The city of Amsterdam was initially formed along few main canals that formed it into the shape of the famous ring: Singelgracht, Herengracht, Keizersgracht and Prinsengracht. The jacket Waters of Amsterdam is a visualisation of those canals that also form a ring around the yoke.

The sweater is knitted in the round using the typical Icelandic tradition of lopi technique. It is amazingly warm and soft thanks to the natural sheep wool purchased in Iceland and Poland. It has two way zipper that opens from down and from up just as you might need it best. Long sleeves and long body will keep cozy and super comfortable as the sweater is also light and not itchy. The size fits S-L. The body has slight shaping to flatter the curves.

This is a unique piece and there will not be knitted another sweater of exactly the same kind
.
Red Light Knits develops in the city of Amsterdam, known for its unique style and endless inspiration. A team of many years experienced hand knitter: Isabela, young talented fashion designer: Annika and a great photography artist: Michel, works on hand made projects to keep someone warm and hot….looking.

All our unique pieces can be found at our online stores:

Stylish in Bologna

Bologna? yes! Home of the Lasagne, mortadella and Tortellini! :)
Artistic, young and bohemian...That's how Bologna is. This gorgeus city is ubicated in the province of Emilia-Romagna, a region in Northern Italy. This place can catch you so easily and take you to live a beautiful experience in Italy. The young enviroment, the nightlife, the red distinc color of the panorama Bolognese and all the interesting things to see, make of this city one of the most trendy places in italy.  Being home of lot of young students who go there every year, Bologna is a city that always seems to be creative and alive.

The musicians, the arcades and the colourful architecture are tipical and distinctive elements of the city. At this place I found one of the most relaxing and cool enviroment; and definitely, a great place for shopping, for enjoying art,  seeing amazing architecture, and eating ice cream (believe me...the ice cream in Bologna has no comparison...!)

I found a hot Italian guy! ciao bello! :)
oooooh! :o Fountain of Neptuno

Keep your head, heels and style high!

Finding my balance like the Tower of Pisa! :)

The Tower of Pisa is one of the most incredible and spectacular buildings in the world, everyone knows why... :D
This marvelous place is our inspiration for today!
Pisa is a little town ubicated in Tuscany-Italy, just one hour by train from Florence.
What makes this place even more beautiful is that the tower is just a part of the whole city. When you get there, you are just expecting to see the remarkable architectural structure. But at the moment you get to this town, you realize how beautiful and inspiring is Pisa in general, and even more at the moment you see the Tower. Which is surrounded by an imppressive architecture and lot of history! and pasta! of course :D

Campo Dei Miracoli. Romanesque Architecture.
This kind of architecture was called "Roman"-esque because of its usage of the Roman arches, stained glass windows, and also its curved columns which commonly featured in cloisters.
Architecture in Pisa! so beautiful and colorful! :)
The Tower of Pisa was designed to be perfectly vertical, but it started to lean during construction.
It stands at 60 metres and until 1990 was leaning at about a 10 degree angle.
